Montenegrin Music Center organized Music Workshop for violinists, violists and their teachers, with renowned violinist Graf Mourja (Hungary/Russia). Workshop was held in Art School for Music and Ballet “Vasa Pavic” in Podgorica, on May 8, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm.
Since Montenegrin musicians do not have much opportunity to work with foreign professors, the main aim of this workshop was to introduce different pedagogical approach, and to enable pupils and teachers an insight into various interpretative and pedagogical possibilities by presenting one professional musician who actively performs and gives lectures worldwide.
Within the introductory segment, Mourja shared his experiences regarding his music education, international solo career and his violin pedagogy work. Afterwards, during 4 hours of workshop, he gave active violin and viola classes to young pupils and talked about the technical and stylistic challenges of the pieces they played. He had an interactive communication with passive participants and school teachers as well, and offered concrete solutions for particular performative problems.
