The latest achievement of the young Montenegrin composer Nina Perović “Kosara for Soprano and Chamber Orchestra” was commissioned by Montenegrin Music Center within project Music Up Close Network. Under the direction of maestro Grigory Krasko, the piece was performed by Montenegrin Chamber Orchestra and the soprano Olivera Ticevic on April 27 in Montenegrin National Theatre (8pm).
“Kosara” was inspired by the true story of Duclea’s prince Vladimir and the Macedonian princess Kosara. Through one thousand years old legend, Perovic illuminates the part of the story in which a female figure, hit by a tragic loss of her husband, and persecuted by shadows, tries to reach her peace, and finds comfort in the faith.
