“Nobilis… humilis… – An Orchestral Watercolour for Youth” originated as a commission by the Montenegrin Music Centre, within the project Music Up Close Network of the EU programme Creative Europe. The piece is based on the initial fragment of the medieval gimel Nobilis, humilis (St. Magnus Hymn), officially the first example of polyphonic music that moves in parallel thirds. Since the main idea of the project is that of bringing the classical music closer to younger generations, the simplicity and naivety of the chosen melody, the softness of the orchestration, and the limpidity of the texture, seemed to the author appropriate for creating the commissioned piece.

Under the direction of maestro Grigory Krasko, the piece was premiered by Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra on April 27 in Montenegrin National Theatre (8pm).
