Pre-Concert Talks / Gustav Mahler – Symphony No.1

Within a premiere performance of G. Mahler’s “Symphony No.1” in Montenegro, Montenegrin Music Center organized second Pre-Concert Talks in Montenegrin National Theatre on June 12 at 7 pm.
Vanja Vukčević, music theorist and organizer of MMC, gave the historical context within which the work was created and talked about the author’s poetics and various stylistical aspects of the piece itself.
From the position of the orchestra musician, firs clarinetist of MSO Petar Garić gave an insight into orchestral rehearsals and preparations for the concert, as well as into interpretative challenges that he and his colleagues had while working on this piece.
