Tales For the Orchestra – Herceg Novi

Orchestral Encounters for young audiences

Under the direction of maestro Grigory Krasko, the concert of Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra titled “Tales For the Orchestra” was held on December 17th at 19:00, at the Park Hall in Herceg Novi (costal region of Montenegro).
The concert program included five movements from the orchestral suite “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Modest Mussorgsky, symphonic poem “The Sorcercerer’s Apprentice” by Paul Dukas, “Ballet Music” from the opera “Faust” by Charles Gounod and “Hungarian Dance” from the opera-oratorio “The Damnation of Faust” by Hector Berlioz.
The format of the concert included the involvement of actor-narrator Branko Ilic. After the introductory presentation of the orchestra, his groups and instruments, the actor narrated the stories which inspired composers to creative work, according to the script wrriten by Vanja Vukcevic.
The concert was attended by around 500 visitors, mostly young audience (primary and secondary school age) and their parents, who were informed about the concert via various marketing means. The concert was also attended by children from the Child’s Home “Mladost” from Bijela, as well as heterogeneous audience from nearby towns.
